Environment Chemicals Feminizing Boys

If you're pregnant, you're supposed to forgo alcohol and tobacco. If you're carrying a boy, maybe you should stop wearing makeup as well. According to Professor Richard Sharpe of the Medical Research Council, cosmetics, as well as some cleaning products, contain hormone-disrupting chemicals that can "feminize" boys in the womb, leading to birth defects, testicular cancer, and low sperm counts.
Chemicals found in many food, cosmetic and cleaning products pose a real threat to male fertility, a leading scientist has warned.

Professor Richard Sharpe, of the Medical Research Council, warned these hormone-disrupting chemicals were "feminising" boys in the womb.

He linked them to raising rates of birth defects and testicular cancer and falling sperm counts.

When NOT to Take Vitamins

If you exercise strenuously and then go home and take some vitamins, those supplements may undo some of the benefits of your workout.
Taking vitamins after exercise may undo some of the beneficial effects of the workout, research suggests.

Some advocate taking antioxidants like vitamin C and E to help protect the body from harmful chemical by-products it creates in breaking into a sweat.

But German scientists now believe these "free radicals" may actually be good for us and even buffer against diabetes, PNAS reports.

And mopping them up with antioxidants may do more harm than good. Read more

Spinach Knocks Out Cancer, Boosts Brain Power

Spinach doesn't just make you strong like Popeye. It also knocks out, cancer, boosts brain power, and protects eyesight.
Popeye was the poster boy for spinach, at least in the cartoons. He could swallow down a can and be able to knock out Bluto who was twice his size. Popeye was probably pretty healthy too, avoiding the pitfalls of aging and disease that come from a diet lacking in flavonoids and other nutrients found in spinach. Recent research has highlighted how well these nutrients work to safeguard health.

Spinach gives a knock out punch to cancer

Scientists in Japan recently studied some of the glyconutrients from spinach and found they inhibited destruction of DNA, cancer cell growth, and tumor growth. Read more

Detox Yourself

Detox yourself with the amino acid N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC). It can detox tobacco smoke, alcohol, and environmental pollution.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) is an amino acid. It is used by the liver and the lymphocytes to detoxify chemicals and other poisons. It is a powerful detoxifier of alcohol, tobacco smoke, and environmental pollutants all of which are immune suppressors. NAC can boost the levels of protective enzymes in the body, thus slowing some of the cellular damage due to aging. NAC may also decrease both the frequency and duration of infectious diseases such as colds and flu.

NAC is a more stable form of l-cysteine which is necessary to produce glutathione in the body. Glutathione is a major antioxidant, protecting tissues of the arteries, brain, heart, immune cells, kidneys, lenses of the eyes, liver, lungs and skin against damage. It also helps prevent cancer, particularly liver cancer. Glutathione is not easily metabolized in supplement form. One of the best ways to increase glutathione levels in the body is to supplement NAC. Read more

5 Ways to Fully Restore Sexual Function in Men Naturally

If your libido and/or sexual functioning has declined with age, there are five ways to fully restore it naturally - no risky, expensive pharmaceuticals necessary.
Men who have taken the time to get their hormone levels in balance never have to consider popping a Viagra. Even men who still produce plenty of testosterone can find themselves in need of hormone balancing when things start to go wrong in the bedroom. This is because processes are at work preventing testosterone from doing the work it was meant to do. When these processes are corrected, most men can again perform as they did in their primes.

Conversion of testosterone to estrogen siphons virility and leaves men vulnerable

As men leave their 30s behind, they often find their testosterone is being converted to estrogen, in a process known as aromatization. As the aromatase enzyme steals their testosterone, many men find themselves developing characteristics of low testosterone levels. These include decreased libido and inability to perform sexually, fatigue, lack of motivation, poor concentration, depression, decreased muscle mass, and increased body fat. Breasts may enlarge as extra estrogen begins to promote female body characteristics. Read more

We are constantly bombarded with warnings about the dangers of cholesterol, but is everything we're being told the truth? Not quite.
Even if you think you know everything there is to know about cholesterol, there may be a few more surprises in store. Check out these common myths about high cholesterol; find out who’s most likely to have it, what types of food can cause it, and why—sometimes—cholesterol isn’t a bad word.

Myth 1: Americans have the highest cholesterol in the world
